Beware of fraudulent websites & e-mails

We have recently been informed by several authors of accepted papers for the upcoming World Finance & Banking Symposium (WFBS) in Abu Dhabi (December 2024) that they have received fraudulent emails posing as official communications related to the event. Please do NOT respond to any unsolicited emails asking you to book travel or accommodation for WFBS through questionable travel agencies. These emails are scams. If you receive such communications, please treat them as fraudulent.

These scams are designed to trick attendees into providing personal information.

Our Official Policy:

We never work with travel agencies for any of our events. We only provide a list of recommended hotels on our official website, and attendees must book and pay for accommodations directly with the hotel or through trusted travel agents.

If you receive an unsolicited email from a travel agency, do not respond. It is likely a scam. Always refer to the list of known fraudulent emails below and remain vigilant when receiving unsolicited communications.

Here is an example of one such scam email:

Sent: Wednesday, 18 September 2024 10:33

To: [Your Name]

Subject: Accommodation for WFBS 2024 in Abu Dhabi, UAE (December 16-18, 2024)

Dear [Your Name],

We kindly request you to share your travel dates in Abu Dhabi with us to secure your accommodation for the conference this December.

If your travel plans are not confirmed yet, please note that the reservation is fully flexible and can be canceled without any charges. Kindly respond at your earliest convenience so we can send you the hotel booking form and finalize the reservation.
